The images/photographs by Sven Hoffmann are – depending on the series and source material – available as
limited edition or as unique pieces. Many motifs can be realized in different sizes and
formats. Information on available formats, editions, and

In these works, Sven Hoffmann partially removes the emulsion layer of the analog plan film. He then paints and processes the film material with fire. The plan film thus becomes a canvas and the basis for the final work.
For the series "Metamorphoses," Sven Hoffmann photographs wool on analog medium format film. He then hand-paints the negatives. This way, the fine structures of the wool combine with color to create new, organically appearing forms.
The starting point of this series is 35mm photographs taken by a deceased relative who documented the world on an extraordinary journey in 1965. Sven Hoffmann draws on this rediscovered analog archive and brings personal memory, contemporary history, and unknown life paths back to visibility.
